Maryland Addiction Consultation Service (MACS)

MACS provides state-wide support to prescribers and their practices in addressing the needs of patients with substance use disorders and chronic pain management through phone consultation, training, technical assistance, and resource and referral identification. MACS is funded by the Maryland Department of Health, Behavioral Health Administration and administered by the University of Maryland School of Medicine. The Eastern Shore Mobile Care Collaborative at the Caroline County Health Department (ESMCC)

Skilled Nursing Facilities: Medications for Opioid Use Disorder Treatment

Baltimore City
Program aims to increase the initiation of Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) for hospitalized patients being discharged to Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs) by expanding the provision of care for patients with Opioid Use Disorder (OUD). The Program aims to: expand the capacity of SNFs to provide care for patients with OUD, create systems to enroll patients in the outpatient setting, create linkage across medical and treatment settings, and decrease ED visits and hospital readmissions.
